Ravyn returned with four bottles and a large bowl of chips. She opened a bottle for herself and took a seat on the couch. “Lyta, what did you find out?”

“Nothing good. Body found in Hines near Nankin Lake. Female, mid to late thirties, shoulder length brown hair, and brown eyes. Her throat was slashed and they think she might have been stabbed in the heart, but can’t be sure, since the heart’s missing. There was a little blood at the scene, probably killed somewhere else.” She sipped from the bottle.

“Shit.” Ravyn looked at Jennie, who nodded. “Something else happened last night after Jennie woke me from the dream.” She toyed with her lighter. “After writing the dream down, I looked at the ring, closed my eyes and thought about Hines Park. When I did, the ring glowed again, and I had an urge to get in my car…
